Meet Louie, who combines his skills as a teacher, musician and photographer with heaps of heart.

Alojz (Louie) Spehar was born and raised as a prairie boy in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Although he began taking pictures in high school, he did not pursue the true art of photography until his university years.

Alojz’s work is heavily influenced by his love for music and the imagery it projects. He describes his photographs as “mysterious, peaceful and fun”. Creating images that tell a story, bring back a memory or transpose the viewer to another time remain the focal points of Alojz’s lens. Every photograph reflects a moment in his life.

The image, Serenity, featured here is the latest addition to the Footprints Gallery while Louie's prairie scenes are hugely popular at the bedside.
