Blessed Money

In her book The Soul of Money global activist and fundraiser, Lynne Twist, defines wealth in terms of moments rather than bank accounts. She believes that when money serves as a conduit for our core values and intentions it becomes "blessed".
Lynne's words came to mind this past weekend when Art à la Carte Board member, Ann Corbett, arrived at our Strategic Planning session carrying a rusty Cadbury tin box filled with rolled pennies. She smiled sheepishly as she handed it to me along with a handwritten card that read,
"thank you so much for everything. me and Eric decided to give you this. the amount is close to $24.00 $23.50 are in the rolls — We love you B & Eric"
10 year-old Bianca and her 13 year-old brother, Eric, already know what it means to share their wealth. In the context of blessed giving, their gift is not only a windfall but an unforgettable moment for us all. Thank you, sweet friends!
