Beta Sigma Phi extends its generosity
Calgary Area Council provides a tremendous gift of support
In January of 2009, Debbie was asked to give a presentation to a local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. A small group of dedicated women listened intently to the compelling stories that define Art à la Carte. In spite of the sub-zero conditions outside, the reception inside was warm and welcoming. At the conclusion of the meeting, a key member suggested that a request to provide financial support be submitted to the Area Council. Some months later, Debbie was advised that Art à la Carte was chosen as one of three recipients of Beta Sigma Phi’s 2009 service project donation.

One year almost to the day, Service Chair, Catherine Pears and City Council President, Cecilia Merryweather, presented Debbie with a cheque for $15,600.00. This extraordinary contribution will be applied towards the purchase of artwork, new program initiatives, promotional items to raise awareness, and associated administrative costs. We are thrilled and honoured to receive this gift.
Beta Sigma Phi is an international non-academic sorority whose motto "life, learning and friendship" stems from the Greek letters of its name . More than a million dollars have been raised world-wide in support of medical research and community initiatives.
