Volunteer Posting - Bedside Volunteer

As an Art à la Carte hospital volunteer, you are directly responsible for bringing choice, comfort and dignity back into the lives of hospitalized patients and their families. The bedside program reinforces the notion that art speaks a universal language. Through the simple act of hanging artwork in patient's rooms, you will quickly discover that Art à la Carte is about so much more than pretty pictures. Like an open hand extended to a friend, the art in our program serves as a positive link between you and the patient. Powerful connections with memories, people, a passion or purpose are often created as a result.

Requirements:

• Mature adult who is compassionate, enjoys being part of a vibrant team,listens well, respects confidentiality, is comfortable working in an active care medical environment
• Willing to complete informal interview and orientation
• Willing to adhere to medical hygiene measures including isolation protocols
• Ability to work on your feet comfortably for extended periods of time
• Can provide own transportation to Foothills Medical Centre
• Available on Wednesdays twice a month for approximately 2-4 hours
