Framing hope for cancer patients

BACKGROUND

The program began as one woman’s effort to help a close friend face her fear of dying by embracing the meaning of her life. Art à la Carte is now a registered charitable organization based in Calgary, Alberta that provides a unique opportunity for patients, visitors and caregivers to find encouragement and hope through artwork in patient rooms and galleries.

Since 1994, more than 37,000 visits have been made to local health care facilities by compassionate volunteers who offer comfort to patients and families by providing a CHOICE of art to display in their hospital rooms.
